What equipment is needed to process cassava starch

Cassava starch is widely used in papermaking, textile, food, medicine and other fields. It is known as the three major potato starches together with sweet potato starch and potato starch.

Cassava starch processing is divided into multiple sections, which require cleaning equipment, crushing equipment, filtering equipment, purification equipment, dehydration and drying equipment, mainly including: dry screen, blade cleaning machine, segmenting machine, file grinder, centrifugal screen, fine residue screen, cyclone, scraper centrifuge, airflow dryer, etc.

Cleaning equipment: The main purpose of this section is to clean and pre-treat cassava. Dry screen and blade cleaning machine are used for two-stage cleaning of cassava. Dry cleaning, spraying and soaking are used to efficiently remove mud, weeds, pebbles, etc. on the surface of cassava to ensure that the cassava is cleaned in place and the cassava starch obtained is of high purity!

Crushing equipment: There are many crushers available on the market, such as rotary knife crusher, hammer crusher, segmenting machine, file grinder, etc. Cassava is in the shape of a long wooden stick. If it is directly crushed by a crusher, it will not be completely crushed and the crushing effect will not be achieved. Cassava starch processing production lines are generally equipped with segmenters and filers. The segmenters are used to cut cassava into pieces, and the filers are used to completely crush cassava into cassava pulp to ensure that the maximum amount of starch is extracted from cassava.

Filtration equipment: Cassava contains a large number of fine fibers. It is better to configure the filtration equipment centrifugal screen and the slag removal equipment fine slag screen in this section. The cassava residue, fiber, impurities in the cassava pulp can be separated from the cassava starch to extract high-purity cassava starch!

Purification equipment: As we all know, the quality of cassava starch affects the sales of starch products, and the cyclone determines the quality of cassava starch to a large extent. The cyclone is used to purify the filtered cassava starch, remove the cell fluid, protein, etc. in the cassava starch slurry, and extract high-purity and high-quality cassava starch.

Dehydration and drying equipment: The last step in cassava starch processing is to dehydrate and thoroughly dry the high-purity cassava starch slurry. This requires the use of a scraper centrifuge and an airflow dryer (also known as a flash dryer). The scraper centrifuge is used to dehydrate excess water in the cassava starch slurry. The airflow dryer uses the negative pressure drying principle to thoroughly dry the cassava starch when passing through the hot air flow, effectively avoiding the problems of starch bridging and gelatinization.2-2
